We’re so grateful for two decades in the design-build industry and for all of our repeat clients who give us the creative freedom to design and build their homes! In reflecting and chatting with our clients about why they keep asking us back, we discovered some common trends. Here are the Top 5 Reasons Customers Hire the Same Interior Designers and Home Builders over and over again:

5. Understanding the Environment

We worked on a Chatsworth farmhouse for clients of ours and were later asked to work on their Malibu beach front property. Being designer-builders without a strong individual style is often thought to be crippling for branding, but for us, it’s a big part of why we have repeat clients. Because we don’t push one style all the time, we respect and work with the home’s environment and existing architecture.

4. Aging Together

When we first started working with Brian Wendell of Forks Over Knives, we were designing his costal bachelor pad overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Santa Monica. Fast forward and now we’re designing his family home in Mar Vista for him and his live in partner is Darshana Thacker, the head chef for FOK, complete with an indoor outdoor edible garden. Understanding where our clients are at different phases of their lives greatly informs design decisions.

3. Ease of Workflow

We’ve worked on multiple homes for our client David Weiner, starting with his home office in Holmby Hills, then the Hong Kong Gent, a condo on Wilshire, and then his single family home in Studio City. David is a great client because he trusts us and let’s us roll. He’s always happy with what we do and he keeps calling us back- we’ve even worked on his professional properties.

2. Range of Services

We designed the Goldsteins Lemon Ranch family home in Rancho Santa Fe and now we are working on their son’s home in the Hollywood Hills which (fun fact!) was Jeffrey Alan Mark’s first home in LA . We’re doing an addition and a total remodel in a Hollywood Regency style. Given that we have interior design teams, build teams, and even doors & windows under one roof means we can offer a range and depth of services that’s often uncommon.

1. Customization

We designed  Debbie Schwartz’s  Beverly Hills home  in an old Spanish Hacienda style, and after we finished she was so happy that she hired us to do her mom’s aging in place Beverly Hills condo and redefine senior living with a bit of chic. Our ability to customize everything meant that the senior living situation didn’t have to be sterile and cold.
